SOLIDWORKS 2017 introduces the ability to rebuild all configurations in a single step.  This allows you to quickly ensure that all configurations are fully up to date, without having to activate each configuration and rebuild or add the rebuild/save mark (available in previous versions).

Inactive configurations with '-' sign have not been rebuilt

Inactive configurations with ‘-‘ sign have not been rebuilt

There are several methods to trigger the rebuild of all configurations:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + B
  • In a file, go to Edit > Rebuild All Configurations
  • In the Configuration Manager, right-click on the filename at the top of the tree and choose Rebuild All Configurations

This quick step now shows all configurations with the green checkmark indicating they have been rebuilt

fully-rebuilt

Rebuild All Configurations now shows green checkmarks beside each configuration

In the event you need to perform a complete forced rebuild of the entire tree, you can use Ctrl + Q in a similar manner to force a full rebuild on all configurations.  Press Ctrl + Shift + Q for a complete rebuild on all configurations.
